Ways to link students, parents, and communities to one another
- My students and parents often come to me for book recommendations this is a platform for them to find my book reviews and book recommendations list by grade level
- I have made this public and have posted links to my book reviews on Twitter for publishers, authors, educators, and the general public to access them
Ways to promote student success and maximize positivity
- One of my primary goals as a teacher is to turn my students into lifelong readers- to achieve this I share about the books I read both in class and on this new blog
- I may consider publishing student book reviews on this page too or setting up a separate blog for those (I am positive my students would love to publish their reviews this way)
Ways to use tools, social media, and strategies for learning
- Since I teach elementary, most of my students are not on social media
- Social media is a way I can connect with other educators to get ideas and inspiration for my classrooms
- I have been pleasantly surprised by my short foray into Twitter--I have already won three books for my classrooms and made many contacts with like minded educators
